Making Calls

Dialing Numbers

Making calls on Siprano is no different than making calls on any other phone. On VoIP lines (Solo, Family, or SOHO Unlimited), simply pick up the phone handset and, once you hear dial tone, dial the phone number of the person you are trying to reach. You do have to dial the area code and phone number for all calls, even local calls. You don't have to add a "1" to the start of the number for domestic calls, though. For international numbers, dial 011 + country code + number.

On your mobile handset you simply enter the number and press the "send" key.

Dial-by-name

You can also make calls simply by saying the name of the person in your address book. To do this, press "0" on your Siprano phone ("0-send" on your mobile handset) and say "make a call" when you hear the greeting. When the system asks you who you want to call, just say their name.

If you have multiple people sharing the same line, you'll have to choose your Center from the Receptionist first.

Travelcard

You can make calls from non-Siprano phones sinply by dialing your travelcard number- (866) 359-1719- and following the prompts to log in. From there you can make calls, check messages, lookup contacts, or use any other function available in your Siprano Center.

Checking Voicemail and Email

On the Phone

Checking messages is easy- simply press "0" on your Siprano phone ("0-send" on your mobile handset) and say "listen to messages" when you hear the greeting. You can listen to voicemail and emails and you can send messages to people in your address book.

If you have multiple people sharing the same line, you'll have to choose your Center from the Receptionist first.

On the Web

To check (or send) message from any internet connected computer, simply log into the Siprano Center website using your username and password. Once logged in, select Message Center to read, listen to, or send messages.

Note: Popup Blockers may prevent you from checking your messages or may cause unusual behavior. Please turn off any Popup Blockers while in the Siprano Center (most blockers can be disabled on a site-by-site basis).

Using the Address Book

On the Phone

You can retrieve and use your contact information on the phone- just press "0" on your Siprano phone ("0-send" on your mobile handset) and say "address book" when you hear the greeting. From here you can get phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, and other information about your contacts.

All of the contacts in your address book will be available on the phone and can be used to dial-by-name.

Setting up Privacy Controls

You can use Anonymous Call Block, Address Book filters, and "black lists" to prevent unwanted calls from reaching you. Log into the Siprano Center website using your username and password, then click Call Management/Privacy under "Set Up Features" in the navigation tree. Click the "help" button on the setup page for details.

Setting up Call Management

You can set up Find Me to track you down at up to three other phone numbers if you're not at the current number. Log into the Siprano Center website using your username and password, then click Call Management/Privacy under "Set Up Features" in the navigation tree. Click the "help" button on the setup page for details.

Setting up Calling Restrictions (mobile only)

As the administrator on the account, you can determine how many "unrestricted" minutes each phone gets and then what numbers the phone can call or be called from once they've exceeded their limit. An unrestricted phone can make or take calls from any number while a restricted phone will only allow calls to be made or taken from a "white list" of numbers that you set up.

Simply login to your Siprano Center using your username (email address) and password. Once logged in, select Mobile Phones to view the phones on the account. Select "calling restrictions" under the phone you want to restrict and follow the instructions.

Setting up Geo-Monitors (mobile only)

As the administrator on the account, you can set alarms based on the geographic location of the phone or on how fast the phone is going. This allows you, for example, to make sure that your child is not speeding or spending time in a location that you have told them not to.

Simply login to your Siprano Center using your username (email address) and password. Once logged in, select Mobile Phones to view the phones on the account. Select "Geo-Monitors" under the phone you want to restrict and follow the instructions.
